The way we eat at work is changing. More businesses are looking for food that supports wellbeing, brings people together and reflects their sustainability goals.

Our recently launched Function Food concept brings this approach to life. Created to showcase how seasonal ingredients, low-carbon cooking and thoughtful sourcing can shape the future of workplace dining, it highlights that sustainable meals don’t mean compromising on flavour. Instead, it's about creating flavour-led menus that are better for people, kinder to the planet and genuinely enjoyable to eat.

At Fooditude, sustainability is woven into everything we do. We're always looking for ways to create workplace food that's as responsible as it is delicious.

Designing menus with sustainability at the heart

Our Function Food concept was developed by our Development Chef, Michael Broad, to showcase what's possible when sustainability and creativity come together. Every dish achieved an A or B low-carbon rating, demonstrating how carefully considered ingredients and cooking techniques can reduce environmental impact without compromising on quality.

The result was a vibrant, meat-free lunch that celebrated flavour, texture and responsible sourcing, proving that sustainable workplace dining can be flavourful and full of variety.

The ingredients behind a more sustainable menu

Our Function Food menu brought sustainable cooking to life through carefully chosen ingredients and thoughtful techniques. It featured British-grown pulses and grains from Hodmedod's, fermented ingredients, surplus vegetables from our partners at Angry Monk, zero-waste pickles and an aquafaba aioli made using the liquid from chickpeas. Every ingredient was selected to reduce environmental impact while delivering exceptional flavour and variety.

By making the most of every ingredient and embracing lower-impact alternatives, the menu demonstrated how sustainable choices can inspire creativity rather than compromise. The result was a vibrant dining experience that challenged perceptions of plant-forward food and showcased what's possible in the modern workplace.
